About me

Hello! If you are here it is because, like me, you love the Spanish language or you would like to immerse yourself in the wonderful world of Spanish.

My name is Mariasun and I would love to be your Spanish teacher. I am a native of Spain, born and raised in Valencia. I love my country, my language, and my city... But what excites me is being able to transmit all this to those who are interested in learning more about the cultural and linguistic aspects of every day Spanish.

I have dedicated almost half my life to teaching. I graduated with a degree in Education in "Universitat de València" (UV) and taught Primary school setting in all grades. I have been teaching in Secondary Education and High School in several institutes. For many years I have been teaching ELE (Spanish as a Foreign Language) for adults, as well as for children and adolescents. I am accreditated through the Cervantes Institute as a teacher and also as an examiner for the DELE exams. I can speak Catalan, English, Italian and a little bit of French.

For my part, all students of Spanish, language speakers from all over the world, my former students, the current ones whom I appreciate with all my heart and the future ones who come, are welcome.

Online classes

For those students who cannot come to learn or improve their Spanish, we have designed distance learning Spanish courses. The sessions are designed based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages and the Curriculum Plan of the Cervantes Institute.

In these sessions, students can prepare for the Instituto Cervantes DELE exams at different levels (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2), individually or in groups. There is also the possibility of reaching these levels without having to take an exam. We have conversation classes, both in groups and individually. And finally, there is the possibility of receiving Spanish classes with a specific and precise purpose.

In all cases, the classes are individualized, that is, adapted to the rhythm and personality of the student, since the methodology of learning is always something personal and particular. No two people are the same, and in my Spanish classes no two lessons are totally the same.

With the different methodologies used, students of Spanish as a Foreign Language learn quickly and with little effort. All skills are worked on: grammar, writing, reading, pronunciation,... but they are mainly focused on the oral conversational part.

Advantages of Online Spanish courses:

Valencia

The city where I was born and currently reside is Valencia, a Spanish city that borders the Mediterranean Sea to the east. With a population close to 800,000 inhabitants, we are the third most populouscityin Spain, behind Madrid and Barcelona.

So, what can you see in Valencia?

In this city there is much to see, without a doubt. However, when we travel while crunched for time we cannot visit as many places as we would like. For this reason, my dear students and Internet visitors, I would advise you to divide the trip into three zones.

First of all, I would recommend you walk the streets of the historic center and its rich artistic heritage, that is, through the Plaza del Ayuntamiento with buildings such as the town hall or Post Office, visit the Lonja de la Seda and the Central Market, as well as stroll through the Plaza de la Queen or the Virgin and enter the Cathedral or the Basilica, contemplate the impressive frescoes of the church of San Nicolás, and finish with some good Spanish portions in the Carmen neighborhood with a good Spanish wine or beer.

And to go down a bit, you could walk through the streets of La Paz, de la Nave or de las Barcas and enjoy the views of the modernist buildings, among others.

For the second part of the route, and especially if you have energy, I suggest you go to the area of the City of Arts and Sciences. In contrast to the classic Valencia, we find ourselves before the new Valencia, a cosmopolitan city where foreigners can find a place of peace, future and romanticism. You will find peace if you walk with your partner, family or friends through the Turia Garden. In a length of more than 7 meters, it houses the City of Arts and Sciences, with buildings such as the Music Palace, the Príncipe Felipe Science Museum, the Reina Sofía Palace of Arts and others. If you visit these buildings you Will definitely find the future of the city.

Finally, and especially if you come hand in hand with your partner or with the little ones in the house, I advise you to spend some unforgettable hours in the Parque de Cabecera, a true extension of the Jardín del Turia, and rent a swan with pedals to take a around the artificial lake.

To finish, I suggest you go along the Paseo Marítimo, an extension of the different beaches of the capital. At any time of the year it is a real pleasure to contemplate these natural views while strolling quietly before lunch and dinner, which could be enjoyed in the restaurants and bars that are located throughout this place. To lower all the food a little, you could walk through the Marina and the Port of the city.
